The issue of environmental contamination caused by the use of textile fabric colors will be solved by bio-based dyes.
Traditional textile dyes' chemical constituents, such as formaldehyde and heavy metals, are removed by bio-based dyes developed through biotechnology, which also produces function-specific enzymes in a bioreactor where microorganisms can transform the carbon source into the desired dye or pigment molecules.
But when used as organic textile dyes for fabrics, these macromolecular pigments significantly outperformed chemical dyes in terms of color fastness, lightfastness, and antibacterial properties. More importantly, the use of bio-based dyes completely resolved the issues of high energy consumption, high water consumption, and waste water discharge.
