Silk printing methods:
We can offer you four different printing methods:
Flat screen printing
The printed fabric is conveyed to the screen by a wide rubber belt, rather than placed on a long table. During the process, the fabric moves under the screen, then stops, and the scraper on the screen is scraped and printed. After scraping, the fabric continues to move under the next screen frame, and the production speed is about 500 yards per hour. Automatic screen printing can only be used for whole rolls of fabric, and cut pieces are generally not printed in this way.
Rotary screen printing

The silk fabric is conveyed to the bottom of the constantly moving round screen tube by a wide rubber belt. The advantages are continuous process, printing speed greater than 3500 yards per hour, high production efficiency, and the use of seamless perforated metal or plastic mesh. The disadvantage is that there are certain requirements for both the color and the pattern size. The color of the rotary screen printing is generally not more than 15 colors, and the circumference of the largest rotary screen is about 36-40 inches, so the maximum pattern size is also not more than 36-40 inches.
Hand screen printing
The silk fabric is smoothly spread on the table, and a small amount of sticky substance is pre-coated on the surface of the table. Then the printer moves the screen frame continuously by hand along the entire platen, printing one screen frame at a time until the fabric is completely printed. Each screen frame corresponds to a printing pattern. The production speed is 50-90 yards per hour. Commercial manual screen printing is also widely used to print cut garment pieces and silk scarves. In the garment printing project, the garment making process and the printing process are arranged together. Before the garment pieces are sewn together, the customized or unique pattern is printed on one piece.
Digital printing
Simply put, it is to input various digital patterns processed by various digital means such as scanning, digital photos, and image computers into the computer. After being processed by the computer color separation printing system, the special RIP software directly prints the special fuel on the silk fabric through its printing system. After processing, various high-precision printing products required are obtained on various textile fabrics. The advantages are low minimum order quantity, low defective rate, and fast proofing speed. The disadvantages are high unit price, and the color saturation, clarity and permeability of the pattern produced are relatively weak.
How to choose the printing method?
It needs to be considered comprehensively according to your design pattern and order quantity. Feel free to contact us to consult the most suitable printing and dyeing method.
All silk grey fabrics prepared for dyeing process, we name these fabrics as PFD fabrics. Correspondingly, there is also PFP on the market, which is fabric prepared for printing. You may already know that the dyeing process has much higher material requirements than the printing process. In other words, PFD is of better quality than PFP.
We are a professional silk fabric supplier with a history of more than 20 years. Here, we can better control the raw silk fabric. We have been using PFD because better raw materials are used. You can rest assured about the quality of your products. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
